Here at Cnk Catering, we love to host our signature masterclasses!
Whether a masterclass is held to entertain clients, softly launch a new venue, road test a new menu, as a team building exercise or for our Intstagram competition winners, the goal is always the same – for our guests to have a great time.
A Cnk Masterclass is typically 2 courses, and is run by our Director and Executive Chef Nigel Stainwall.
We always welcome our guests with a cocktail and some canapes!
We recently held a great masterclass at our newest venue, Canvas House.
Canvas House is a gorgeous warehouse venue in South Melbourne, with soaring ceilings, a fire pit, lounge areas, a courtyard and a state of the art demonstration kitchen.
We started the masterclass with an introduction to Nigel and the dishes he would be preparing.
Nigel guided our guests through a quick lesson on his main course, by showing them how to portion & cook his wild caught barramundi.
He then plated it up with horseradish milk, shaved cauliflower, calamari and Yarra Valley Salmon Pearls, and the guests got to sit down at a beautiful table and feast.
Next up was a Filipino-inspired sticky rice, coconut and mango dish, and Nigel showed our guests how to quenelle mango sorbet and make spheres out of mango puree.
The dish was then beautifully plated up and guests got to sit back, chat, have another drink and savour their dessert.
A masterclass is a very relaxed and fun evening! We had such a great response that we’ve now created some Masterclass Packages that can be held at Canvas House.
